An exceptional oak chimney piece from Chillingham Castle, Northumberland. Provenance of the Countess of Tankerville.
The carcass is believed to be late 18th Century, with applied carvings from the 16th / 17th century. Inigo Jones did work at Chillingham and the carvings are of his style.
